This question was sent out in 2006 to all Moparfest participants that we have email addresses for. All comments see here are directly from the responses of the returned email. These comments do not reflect Moparfest's views on this subject.
The question was… Which would you prefer to win as a pre registration prize?

Another old car !!!		A brand new HEMI crate engine	I would rather get $10,000 cash
old car		obviously the HEMI crate engine	I would prefer $10,000 as I already have a vehicle and would probably sell the prize vehicle.
I would prefer the older car… off age of the vehicle eligible to win that prize.		A brand new HEMI crate engine? Then you need a body etc	$10,000 Cash 2. Car must be older than 1975 - keep that year each year.
Another old car		I think a hemi crate engine would be a big draw for most people.	I would like the $10,000.00 as a prize and I think the cut off date should be 20 years.

I think next year should be like the past years and have an older mopar car as the prize.		$10,000.00 - the car is usually getting sold by the winner anyway	$10,000 would be a great prize

The give away cars are great because of the interest factor. Every year, your organization comes up with a cool car.		I would say that either a crate Hemi or $10K are very interesting alternatives to the "giveaway" car, since not everybody has the same tastes on what constitutes a "cool" car - but it is free! However, you would have to forego the excitement of the 10 finalists with their keys and that's always been fun. At the same time, I know that 10K would help me and a LOT of mopar folks out with our current project, or current drivers, so that would be a most welcome prize too... So, having given it a little thought, I vote for the $10K. (But am certainly happy with the way things are too.) And I would also say that	$10,000 would be great for those who are working or finishing off their vehicles
I like the idea of drawing an old car		a new hemi motor would be cool but if you don't have a car to or want to put it into it will get sold	$10,000.00 would appeal to every one but it certainly will take away from the advertising appeal and the excitement that can be generated with a car
I like the old car prize.		Next year I would rather see a Hemi crate engine as the main prize.	My second choice would be the 10 G's The money would help in a current or future restoration project.
We should continue with a car because it is one of the key things that we have built the show on for the past 20 or so years that we have been giving away cars. Having the car in our advertising grabs attention and gives the ads punch. We would have a dramatic reduction in registration if we persuade any of the other options. The only advantage would be that it would be less work and Moparfest would be a lesser show. You get what you put in to it.		As fine a motor as a Hemi is I would guess that 75% or more of the people attending would have no use for it and you can't drive it home or put it in your trunk to take it home to try to sell it.	cash is always good
I think we should continue giving a car		Hemi crate engine	The cash is a nice change, this would help anyone who still needs to restore parts of their car have the cash on hand right away.
the prize of an old car seems okay also. The only draw back I see is how long are you going to be able to find good 66 to 72 Mopars, if you want the money I guess you could always sell the car for a good half decent price and help someone else get into the hobby.		The crate engine is nice but if it doesn’t fit in your car what do you do?	The cash would give people a chance to spend the money on their own vehicle

I believe the grand prize should be an old car because I like the idea that 10 people get called and then it's left to the luck of the draw if you get the correct key or not, so it doesn’t matter what order your name gets picked in.		I think I would prefer the $10,000.00 cash Although the cars you have offered as prizes over the years have been great, many of us are not in a position to have more than one old auto and would be faced with selling either the prize car or our current "baby". The money would allow us to either upgrade to a better car of our choice or to complete the restoration of our current ride.	Cash is nice but impersonal and not as much fun as a restored mopar.
My preference is an Old Car		Motor	I don't consider this as a hobby for cash incentives
I still like the car idea best as long as it is a pre 1975 car.		Hemi Crate Engine	Pls stay away from the cash prize...its does nothing for shows no MOPAR theme.
My first choice would be another car but looking at the future it may become harder to find them		the hemi engine	Cash would take away from a Mopar theme.
I like the idea of a old car but I already have trouble finding storage in the winter for the one I have.		a fella would have to buy another car to use a crate engine (in most cases)	Don't do cash
I like the idea of a old car. As far as the age thing goes		the Hemi -I can't think of mopar guy or gal i know that wouldn't want to own the legendary elephant motor
The show is getting bigger every year to the point where you guys are running out of room. Anyhow my opinion is the old car.		HEMI! Even if a guy can't use it right away he could just go out to the garage and hug it every so often when he's feeling a little blue.

I think that the car is a great way to get more people interested in the draw. I’ve heard lots of people talking about winning the car. Hell what would you rather buy a lottery ticket for 10,000 or a car?		I would like to see a Hemi crate engine for the preregistered. I feel that there are already a number of car's out there that are being raffled off which go for a good cause and anyone who enters Moparfest already has a car so why not something that they could use to fix there's up with or just to do whatever with it. The money would be good too but I personally feel that if you physically win something you appreciate it more. Remember... how many people have the bragging right's to say... It's got a Hemi.

I always look forward to seeing what the next car that you find will be ,and would be disappointed if it was something else.
I've always liked the possibility that you could show up on the day and end up going home with another classic car.

Another old car? YES I find talking to many people at Moparfest is they do not like the drawing of the 10 keys. Most would prefer just one draw and the winner is chosen.
